Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (2026)

Czech box office May 7-10: ‘Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft’ outduels ‘Mortal Kombat II’

The Devil Wears Prada 2 continues to dominate the Czech box office, according to the latest data from the Czech Film Distributors Union. The belated sequel starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway fell a modest 37.9 percent to add CZK 11.3 million to its two-week tally of CZK 39.8 million, and will look to surpass Project Hail Mary as the highest-grossing film of 2026 at the Czech box office in the coming weeks.

Musical biopic Michael is also showing some strong legs, falling just 9 percent in its third week of release to add another CZK 6.77 million to its total earnings of CZK 33.95 million. The Michael Jackson film won’t challenge Bohemian Rhapsody among the highest-grossing films of all time at the Czech box office, but should be a fixture in the top 10 heading into the summer.

Concert film Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour debuted in third with CZK 4.40 million. Co-directed by star Eilish and no less than James Cameron, the documentary depicts her 2025 Manchester concerts with immersive 3D technology.

Despite a strong debut in other territories, Mortal Kombat II underperformed in its opening weekend in Czechia, earning a modest CZK 2.29 million. The sequel to the 2021 reboot of the popular series of fighting games adds Karl Urban to its cast as fan favorite Johnny Cage.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie rose 13 percent over last weekend, earning CZK 2.02 million to bring its six-week total to CZK 30.66 million. While predominantly playing in Prague in a Czech-dubbed version, original English-language screenings can also be found at select cinemas.

Among other new releases, The Sheep Detectives brought in CZK 1.72 million for a total of CZK 2.15 million including last weekend’s preview screenings. Hugh Jackman stars alongside the titular cast of sheep who turn to detective work when their shepherd is found dead; the film is screening in Prague in both English and Czech-dubbed versions.

Damian McCarthy‘s Irish folk horror movie Hokum landed in at eighth with CZK 699,000. Adam Scott stars an American writer haunted by personal demons who travels to a hotel in rural Ireland in the scare-filled frightfest.

The Disappearance of Josef Mengele earned CZK 127,000 to debut in at 16th in this weekend’s charts. August Diehl stars as the infamous Nazi Angel of Death, who spends decades in hiding in South America in writer-director Kirill Serebrennikov‘s noir-inflected thriller.

German animated family film Conni – Mystery of the Crane earned CZK 103,000 to debut at 17th. The sequel to 2020’s Conni and the Cat and the long-running series My Friend Conni is screening locally only in a Czech-dubbed version.
