The Odyssey held onto the top spot at the Czech box office for a second weekend, and Christopher Nolan’s epic barely lost any momentum in the process. It earned another CZK 6.28 million, down just 8.2 percent from last weekend, to bring its eight-week total to CZK 158.67 million. That leaves it only about CZK 10 million behind Spider-Man: Brand New Day, setting up a close race between the two summer blockbusters for top grossing film of 2026 in Czechia.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day remained in second, but the gap between the summer’s two biggest movies widened considerably over the weekend. The Marvel sequel fell 40.7 percent to CZK 3.96 million in its sixth week, bringing its cumulative haul to CZK 168.94 million. It still holds the advantage over The Odyssey in total revenue and has now sold more than 777,000 tickets in Czechia, but Nolan’s film is quickly closing in.
Czech comedy Perfect Day (Dokonalý den) was the weekend’s biggest new release, jumping from preview screenings into third place with CZK 2.32 million from 13,010 admissions. Its revenue surged as it expanded into 198 cinemas for its official opening, giving the film CZK 2.99 million to date.
PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie continued to attract family audiences in fourth place, taking CZK 1.60 million in its fifth weekend. That’s a 36.7 percent decline from the previous frame, but the animated adventure has now amassed CZK 28.03 million from nearly 160,000 admissions. After five weeks in the upper reaches of the chart, it remains one of the more successful family releases of the late summer.
Insidious: Out of the Further completed the top five with CZK 1.21 million, holding somewhat better in its third weekend with a 35 percent decline. The sixth entry in the supernatural horror series has now earned CZK 8.72 million from 41,804 admissions in Czech cinemas. While its run hasn’t approached the blockbuster numbers at the top of the chart, it has maintained a top-five position throughout its first three weeks.
Pixar’s Cars raced back into Czech cinemas for a rerelease and found a surprisingly receptive audience, landing in sixth place with CZK 956,000 from 4,916 admissions. The 2006 animated film celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, and its return put it ahead of every other family title on the chart apart from PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie.
Japanese historical mystery The Samurai and the Prisoner debuted at No. 17, earning CZK 145,000 from 773 weekend admissions. Directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa and adapted from Honobu Yonezawa’s novel Kokurōjō, the film stars Masahiro Motoki as warlord Araki Murashige during the 1579 siege of Arioka Castle.
British comedy-horror Spider Island debuted at No. 18, earning CZK 143,000 from 706 admissions across 63 Czech cinemas. Directed by Christopher Smith, the film follows a group of influencers attending the launch of a tropical holiday resort who find themselves battling an infestation of deadly spiders.
Finally, Sex and Death at Camp Miasma debuted at No. 19 with CZK 132,000 from 744 weekend admissions. The American production from director Jane Schoenbrun had already accumulated some revenue from earlier screenings, giving it CZK 289,000 and 1,610 admissions overall.
