VIDEO: An AT-AT stomps through Prague in LEGO’s 2020 holiday advert

LEGO has recently released their advert for the 2020 holiday season, which was primarily filmed in Prague. Eagle-eyed residents will be able to spot a number of landmarks and locations throughout the Czech capital.

Set to a reconfigured version of Louis Armstrong’s What A Wonderful World, backed by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, the advert features concepts and characters from a variety of LEGO themes across a number of locations in Prague.

See if you can spot the local landmarks in the full advert from the official LEGO YouTube channel, and check below for a full breakdown:

While some of the locations are difficult to distinguish, many shots make great use of some of the lesser-known attractions around Prague.

That’s Průhonice Park in front of the Průhonice Chateau where the astronauts get married, which is officially in the Prague-West district.

Cops chase robbers down Vyskočilová street in front of the BB Center in Prague 4.

And in the most recognizable sequences, a Star Wars AT-AT and Stormtroopers pass by the House at the Black Madonna on Ovocný trh in Prague’s Old Town.

Characters from LEGO’s Ninjago line can also be seen walking on a cobblestone street in what is presumably Prague’s Old Town.

Some more shots of Prague can be seen in short alternate ads that expand on the individual themes.

Here’s the AT-AT taking a chip out of Prague’s House at the Black Madonna before taking a nap on Ovocný trh:

And at the end of that chase scene on Vyskočilová, an ice cream truck crosses town to jump through a flaming ring in front of Prague 7’s Výstaviště Exhibition Grounds:

And a Minecraft blockhead walks through some more of Průhonice Park:

“Our new campaign is a celebration of the creative power and optimism that children possess,” the LEGO Group’s Chief Marketing Officer Julia Goldin stated in a press release.

“We’ve seen so many families building together this year, giving parents a chance to experience and appreciate how children can build, unbuild and rebuild the world around them using LEGO bricks. We want to inspire people of all ages to play and unleash their creativity this Holiday season.”
