Hollywood actor Johnny Depp is reportedly in a new relationship with Yulia Vlasova, a 28-year-old Russian beautician and model based in Prague. The Daily Mail reported on Depp’s new relationship last week, which comes two years after the actor’s high-profile defamation trial following his divorce from Amber Heard.
Depp and Vlasova have been seen together in public multiple times since they first met in 2021 at the 55th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. The British tabloid quotes unnamed insiders close to Depp who describe the relationship as casual, noting that the pair have been seeing each other intermittently over the past two years.
Recently, the couple was photographed together at the London Heliport, where they appeared close and comfortable with each other.
Depp was one of the featured guests at the 2021 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, along with Michael Caine, though he didn’t receive one of the fest’s prestigious award statues. He later starred in the 2023 KVIFF festival trailer, which humorously addressed the lack of an official award for Depp.
The pair were also spotted together during a concert in Prague in July 2022, where Depp performed with his late friend, musician Jeff Beck. Photos from the event show the couple posing playfully, with one image capturing Depp kissing Vlasova on the cheek.
Vlasova reportedly owns a makeup and hairstyling studio in Prague, and has maintained a connection with Depp since first meeting him at the film fest. According to The Daily Mail, she studied at the prestigious Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), known for training future diplomats and intelligence officers, and later attended the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň.
She also maintains a presence on social media as a model and influencer. Vlasova has hinted at her relationship with Depp in now-deleted Instagram posts, but has since asked for privacy.
Depp’s professional life has been on an upswing following his legal battles. The actor starred in last year’s Jeanne du Barry for director Maïwenn, which premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, and has been announced to star as Satan in The Carnival at the End of Days, which director Terry Gilliam plans to shoot from January 2025.
Depp has visited the Czech Republic a number of times. In addition to attending the 2021 Karlovy Vary film fest, he’s also played multiple concerts with his band Hollywood Vampires, alongside Joe Perry and Alice Cooper, including a stop in Brno last year.
The actor also filmed the 2001 thriller From Hell in Prague for directors Allen and Albert Hughes. Given his new relationship, perhaps Depp will return to the Czech capital more frequently in the near future.
