Prime Video has released the first trailer for Ride or Die, the upcoming action-comedy series starring Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham, ahead of its global debut on July 15. The trailer offers a first extended look at the Prague-shot production, with several Czech locations appearing throughout the preview.
The eight-episode series filmed across the Czech Republic in 2025, with Prague serving as a major production base. The trailer highlights the city’s streets, architecture, and landmarks as part of a European chase involving an assassin, her unsuspecting friend, and a series of dangerous encounters.
Prague landmarks featured in new trailer
The newly released trailer introduces the central premise of Ride or Die, which follows best friends Debbie Claybourne (Spencer) and Judith Burton (Waddingham). After discovering that Judith is secretly an international assassin, Debbie is pulled into a dangerous escape across Europe when a mission goes wrong and enemies from Judith’s past return.
The footage released by Prime Video shows the pair navigating car chases, shootouts, and other action sequences while traveling across Europe, with multiple international locations played by those in Czechia. Several scenes were filmed in Prague, where the production made extensive use of both historic locations and contemporary urban settings.
Locations utilized in the Czech shoot include central Prague sites such as Mariánské náměstí, Divadelní Street, and Bruxx Restaurant in Vinohrady, as well as venues including Holešovický pivovar, Klub Futurum, Hanavský pavilon, and the Church of St. Gabriel. The production also filmed at Trojanův Mlýn and Jordan Studios, originally created for the production of Prime Video’s The Wheel of Time.
Additional Czech locations included Újezd nad Lesy, Králův Dvůr, and the Čeřinka Quarry. Outside Prague, the series filmed at Zámek Ploskovice and in Kolín, while several scenes were shot in Karlovy Vary, including at the Grandhotel Pupp, Mlýnská kolonáda, and Nová Louka.
The variety of locations reflects the scale of the production, which combined Prague’s historic city center with countryside locations, studio facilities, and other Czech destinations. While Prague is frequently used as a stand-in for other European cities in international productions, Ride or Die appears to feature the Czech capital more directly as part of its story.
Spy comedy continues Prague’s international production run
Created by Tessa Coates, Ride or Die combines action and comedy elements as Debbie and Judith are forced to work together while being pursued by law enforcement, assassins, and criminals. Peyton Reed, known for directing Marvel’s Ant-Man films, directed episodes of the series, with Matt Miller serving as showrunner.
The cast also includes Bill Nighy as The Director, Ed Skrein as Billy, Sylvia Hoeks as Ana, Calam Lynch as Sam, Savannah Steyn as Queenie, Jamie Parker as David, and Jacky Ido as Jacques.
The series was produced by Paramount Television Studios, Amazon MGM Studios, Double Dream, and Spencer’s Orit Entertainment. Spencer and Waddingham are also among the executive producers, alongside Coates, Miller, Reed, Andy and Barbara Muschietti, Irene Yeung, Brian Clisham, and Stephanie Kluft.
Production in Prague began in early 2025 and continued for approximately six months, with local production support from Stillking Films. The shoot included large-scale action sequences and filming across multiple Prague districts before wrapping in June.
The project arrives during another active period for international productions in Czechia, following recent high-profile shoots including Blade Runner 2099, Foundation, Interview with the Vampire, The Wheel of Time, and Carnival Row. The country’s expanded audiovisual incentive program, which increased rebates for qualifying productions in 2025, has helped maintain demand for Czech locations and production services.
All eight episodes of Ride or Die will premiere worldwide on Prime Video on July 15. The series will be available in more than 240 countries and territories.
