Emily Blunt and Josh O'Connor in Disclosure Day (2026)

Czech box office June 11-14: ‘Disclosure Day’ leads strong weekend as ‘Obsession’ continues growth

Steven Spielberg‘s Disclosure Day led another strong weekend at the Czech box office heading into the summer season, according to the latest from the Czech Film Distributors’ Union. The latest from the acclaimed director, starring Emily Blunt and Josh O’Connor, took in CZK 8.53 million to land in the top spot.

That sum was just enough to squeeze past the second weekend of Scary Movie, which fell to second with CZK 7.92 million. The spoof sequel, sixth in the Scary Movie franchise and first from the Wayans family since Scary Movie 2, fell just 34.7 percent (a far cry from its 73.9 percent drop in the states) and has now grossed an impressive CZK 23.8 million after just two weeks of release in Czechia.

Obsession continues its impressive surge at the Czech box office, following right in the footsteps of its U.S. performance. Curry Barker‘s low-budget hit surged 26.2 percent in its third week of release, overtaking Backrooms for the third position in the charts with CZK 4.36 million and bringing its three-week total to CZK 13.4 million.

Kane Parsons‘ liminal horror film fell 36.9 percent in its third week of release to land in fourth. Backrooms earned CZK 2.54 million to bring its three-week total to CZK 16.8 million.

Czech comedy What a Way to Go (Pět švestek), the latest film from Oscar-winning Czech director Jan Svěrák (Kolya), came in fifth in its third week of release, falling just 11 percent. It earned CZK 1.88 million to bring its three-week total to CZK 10.36 million.

Among new releases beyond Disclosure Day, the concert event BTS World Tour Arirang in Busan: Live took in CZK 1.51 million to land in at sixth in the charts. It’s the third special cinema event from the Korean boy band to earn north of CZK 1 million at the local box office this spring.

In the Grey failed to make a dent in the U.S. box office last month, and its Czech release followed suit. The latest film from director Guy Ritchie, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Henry Cavill, managed just CZK 380,000 in its Czech debut to come in 14th.

Po večerce (which translates as After Dinner), a new Czech comedy from director Dan Pánek (Invincibles), earned CZK 134,000 in limited preview screenings to land in at 19th on the list. The film opens wide in local cinemas from June 25.
