Prague-Shot ‘Zookeeper’s Wife’ Gets First Trailer

The Zookeeper’s Wife, which shot in Prague during the summer and fall of 2015, has received its first trailer, a year after filming wrapped in the Czech capital.

Jessica Chastain stars as Antonina Żabińska in the upcoming film, a real-life figure who helped shelter hundreds of Jews in Warsaw’s Zoo during the Nazi occupation of Poland.

Johan Heldenbergh and Daniel Brühl co-star in the film from director Niki Caro (Whale Rider), adapted by Angela Workman from Diane Ackerman’s novel.

Chastain lit up her social media accounts in 2015 with pics from the Prague set that included intimate looks at the animals used for the film, many on loan from Prague Zoo.

The Zookeeper’s Wife is set to open in Prague on March 30, 2017. It will be released in the US a day later, March 31.
