Prague-Shot Thriller with Malkovich, Douglas Gets UK Release Date

Unlocked, a U.S.-produced spy thriller directed by Michael Apted (Chasing Mavericks, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader), seemed to fall off the map after filming wrapped in Prague more than two years ago.

Now, however, it has secured a UK release date of May 5, 2017. US and Czech dates have yet to be announced.

The film, which was shot in both Prague and the UK, features a star-studded cast that includes Orlando Bloom, Noomi Rapace, Toni Collette, John Malkovich, and Michael Douglas.

Malkovich, who was robbed at Prague’s Mandarin Oriental hotel while in the country for a performance of his musical The Infernal Comedy in 2011, didn’t seem to mind returning to the country.

But a release window of 2.5 years after photography had wrapped might indicate some issues with Unlocked in the editing room.
