Tom Holland in Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026)

Czech box office Aug. 13-16: ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ keeps swinging ahead of ‘The Odyssey’

Spider-Man: Brand New Day topped the chart for a third consecutive weekend, adding CZK 16.11 million from 71,461 admissions, according to the latest data from the Czech Film Distributors’ Union. The Marvel sequel fell 37.6% from its previous weekend but has now reached CZK 129 million from nearly 593,000 admissions in Czech cinemas. Its three-week total has already made it the year’s biggest hit in Czech cinemas.

The Odyssey held second place with CZK 9.52 million, a modest 10.9% decline that underlines the Christopher Nolan epic’s staying power. The film has now passed CZK 120 million in Czechia, with nearly 495,000 admissions after five weekends, and it could surpass Spider-Man: Brand New Day at the local box office within the next two weeks given continued IMAX sold-out screenings in Prague.

PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie retained third place at the Czech box office with CZK 4.09 million. The animated adventure fell 46% in its second weekend but has reached CZK 15.02 million and more than 86,000 admissions. Its second-week drop was significantly steeper than the declines for the two films above it.

6 Grams, the Czech comedy about four fathers caught up in an increasingly absurd school drug investigation, fell to fourth place with CZK 1.82 million. That represented a 54.5% decline from its opening weekend, bringing its total to CZK 7.71 million and 44,901 admissions after two weeks.

Minions and Monsters rounded out the top five with CZK 1.42 million, down just 7.1% from the previous weekend. After seven weeks in release, the animated Universal title has now earned CZK 59.64 million and drawn nearly 314,000 admissions, making it one of the summer’s most durable performers.

The biggest new release was The Cursed Warrior, the Czech drama starring Milan Ondrík as retired European boxing champion and Olympic medalist Pavel “Hoff” Hoffmeister, who makes a comeback in MMA. The Tomáš Dianiška and Vojtěch Frič-directed film opened with CZK 1.41 million from 7,186 admissions, good for sixth place. Given the profile of the release and its sports-drama premise, however, the opening can be viewed as a disappointment.

The End of Oak Street, David Robert Mitchell‘s American sci-fi survival film starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, opened in seventh place with an underwhelming CZK 1.24 million from 6,272 admissions. The film follows a family whose suburban neighborhood is transported from 1982 into a world inhabited by dinosaurs.

Czech co-production The Crystal Planet opened in eighth place with CZK 854,000 from 4,978 admissions. The 3D animated sci-fi adventure features voice performances from Jeremy Irons and Vanessa Redgrave in its original version and follows an 11-year-old girl who discovers a hidden ecosystem on an alien world. Despite being made in English with an international voice cast, the film is screening in Czech cinemas only in a Czech-dubbed version.

The Death of Robin Hood entered the charts in 18th place with just CZK 132,000 from just 685 admissions. Hugh Jackman stars as an aging and violent version of the legendary outlaw in the dark action thriller, which opened in Czech cinemas roughly two months after its U.S. debut and release in many other territories. The delayed Czech release likely contributed to the film bombing locally.
