The Contractor, a 2022 Chris Pine action-thriller, leapt to the top of the Czech charts among movies this weekend according to data from streaming aggregator JustWatch. Pine plays a former U.S. Special Forces sergeant who is recruited into some shady black-ops mercenary work in Berlin in the film, which is now streaming on Netflix in the Czech Republic.
A pair of 1990s thrillers followed The Contractor in a weekend short on new releases (the new Netflix rom-com The Wrong Paris, starring Miranda Cosgrove, failed to crack the top 10). The 1996 Stephen King adaptation Thinner came in second for SkyShowtime, with the new King adaptation The Long Walk premiering in cinemas. The 1998 crime film The Negotiator, starring Kevin Spacey and Samuel L. Jackson and available to watch locally on Netflix and Oneplay, came in third.
Thunderbolts+ continues to hold strong in Czech streaming charts after failing to make much of an impact at the box office earlier this summer. The MCU superhero film moved up from sixth to fourth among films in the charts this past week.
Rounding out the top five is In the Lost Lands, a post-apocalyptic film from director Paul W.S. Anderson based on the George R. R. Martin short story starring Dave Bautista and Milla Jovovich that released in Czech cinemas earlier this summer and is now streaming on HBO Max.
Holding the top 10 is The Thursday Murder Club, a Netflix murder mystery set in an assisted living facility starring Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie, which fell to sixth after topping the charts for the past two weeks. Eenie Meanie, a heist movie starring Samara Weaving and Andy Garcia, finished tenth in its fourth week of release on Disney+.

Wednesday remains at the top Czech streaming charts among TV shows for the second straight week for Netflix following the release of the second half of its second season. Worldwide numbers for the second half of season two were reportedly down—though perhaps spurred by the start of the new school year—but the Addams Family has series performed especially well locally following the release of a Czech trailer featuring a cult classic song.
The Summer I Turned Pretty, which drops new episodes for its third season Wednesdays on Prime Video, continues to hold strong, coming in at number two for the second straight week. Task, which dropped its second episode on HBO Max on Sunday, shoots up to fourth in the Czech TV charts.
Alien: Earth, which releases new episodes on Tuesdays, continues to hold strong in local streaming charts, finishing third over the past week. The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, with new episodes releasing on Prime Video on Wednesdays, fell to ninth after ranking in the top five last week.
Dexter: Resurrection, which finished its ten-episode run earlier this summer in the U.S., came in fourth in its Czech streaming debut on SkyShowtime. The first two episodes of the legacy sequel are now streaming in Czechia, with new episodes premiering weekly.
