American action star Chuck Norris has canceled his scheduled appearance at Weekend with a Legend, an event that was set to take place in Prague on Nov. 22–23. The actor’s production team informed organizers that Norris would be unable to travel to the Czech Republic on the planned dates, according to promoter Petr Větrovský of VDN Promo.
The cancellation, announced late October through Větrovský’s Instagram account, disappointed many fans who had been anticipating the visit of the 85-year-old actor known for his roles in The Delta Force, Invasion U.S.A., and the television series Walker, Texas Ranger. The reason for Norris’s withdrawal was not disclosed.
VDN Promo has confirmed that ticket holders will receive full refunds automatically in the coming days and that discussions are underway to reschedule the actor’s appearance for next year.
Event canceled amid plans for major fan gathering
Weekend with a Legend was designed as a two-day fan event at the House of Fun Prague, located in the Máj shopping center. The program was to feature an onstage talk with Norris, autograph sessions, photo opportunities, and screenings of his classic films. Ticket prices ranged from CZK 990 for general admission to higher-tier packages that offered personal meet-and-greet access.
According to organizers, the Prague event was meant to mark the 10th anniversary of VDN Promo, the company behind similar celebrity-focused gatherings in Czechia. The format followed the agency’s previous Night with a Legend events, which brought local and international icons such as Czech singer Marta Kubišová and Belgian action star Jean-Claude Van Damme to Czech audiences.
Větrovský said in a public statement that his team had been in close contact with Norris’s representatives for months before the cancellation. “We understand that many of you were really looking forward to meeting this legend, and we are very sorry about the situation,” he wrote. “After mutual agreement with Chuck Norris’s team, we will work on finding an alternative date for next year.”
Refunds and possible rescheduling in 2026
VDN Promo emphasized that all payments will be refunded automatically, with no action required from customers. “Refunds will be processed in the coming days. There is no need to take any steps on your part,” the company announced. The organizers also reaffirmed their commitment to transparency, noting that the decision to return ticket money immediately was made “to avoid holding fans’ funds unnecessarily.”
While Norris’s absence leaves a notable gap in the agency’s anniversary celebrations, Větrovský suggested that discussions for a future date remain open. “We are already talking about a new term for next year,” he said, hinting that Norris could still visit Prague in 2026 if scheduling allows.
Chuck Norris, who rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s with roles in action classics such as Missing in Action and Code of Silence, remains a cult figure in popular culture. His recent appearances have included commercial work and public engagements across the United States. The planned Prague visit would have been his first in several years.
Although no replacement guest has been announced, VDN Promo indicated that future Legend events will continue to bring international entertainment figures to Czech audiences. For now, fans will have to wait for confirmation of whether Norris’s long-anticipated Prague appearance will ultimately take place next year.
