The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is set to arrive in Prague next month as Harry Potter: The Exhibition, an immersive touring experience showcasing original film costumes, authentic props, and interactive installations, opens at PVA EXPO Prague Letňany on Aug. 6.
The exhibition marks the latest stop on a global tour that has attracted more than 4 million visitors since its debut. The attraction offers a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most successful screen franchises ever made, highlighting the craftsmanship behind the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films while celebrating more than 25 years of the franchise’s cultural impact.
An interactive journey through the Wizarding World
Developed by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, Imagine, and Eventim Live, Harry Potter: The Exhibition is designed as an immersive experience rather than a traditional museum display. Visitors move through themed galleries inspired by locations from the films, combining physical sets and displays with multimedia presentations and interactive technology.
The experience begins with a first-edition copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone displayed inside a Gringotts-inspired vault before leading visitors through a series of galleries recreating memorable locations from Hogwarts. A multimedia presentation based on the Marauder’s Map allows guests to see their own names appear on the famous magical map, while large-scale recreations feature landmarks including the Whomping Willow and Dementors.
Several sections encourage hands-on participation. Guests select a Hogwarts house before entering the exhibition, with customized digital elements appearing throughout their visit. Interactive classroom experiences let visitors brew potions, repot mandrakes in Herbology, practice Divination, and use a digital wand during a Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson.
Other galleries recreate Hagrid’s Hut and the Forbidden Forest, where visitors encounter magical creatures and participate in an interactive Patronus experience. The Great Hall serves as one of the exhibition’s central spaces, highlighting seasonal celebrations familiar from the films.
Alongside the exhibits themselves, visitors will be able to view original costumes and authentic props used during production of the films, offering insight into the costume design, production design, and visual storytelling that helped define the franchise on screen.
A franchise that continues to expand
Prague joins a growing list of international cities to host the traveling exhibition, which has become one of Warner Bros. Discovery’s flagship location-based entertainment experiences. Organizers say the exhibition has already welcomed more than 4 million visitors worldwide.
The attraction reflects the continuing expansion of the Harry Potter franchise beyond cinema. Since the publication of J.K. Rowling’s first novel in 1997, the property has grown into eight feature films, three Fantastic Beasts movies, the stage production Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, video games, studio tours, theme park attractions, and retail experiences around the world.
The exhibition incorporates elements from across that broader Wizarding World, including references to Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, presenting them alongside the original film series in a unified visitor experience.
Its arrival also comes as the franchise enters another new chapter. HBO is currently developing a television adaptation of the original novels, with production underway on a long-form series that will reinterpret the books for a new generation of viewers while introducing a new cast.
The exhibition opens Aug. 6 at PVA EXPO Prague Letňany, where visitors will be able to experience immersive environments, view production artifacts, and explore the filmmaking techniques that helped bring the Wizarding World to life on screen.
