‘Nosferatu’ bites into top of Czech streaming charts; ‘Wednesday’ debuts top among TV shows

Nosferatu, which filmed in Prague in 2023 and hit cinemas last Christmas, leapt into the top position among movies on Czech streaming charts in its first week of release on SkyShowtime according to data from JustWatch. Robert Eggers‘ elegant, bloody horror film starring Bill Skarsgård as the vampire Count Orlok has previously been available for months of VOD services, but took a bite out of the competition on its streaming debut.

This week’s only other debut, the Prime Video buddy comedy The Pickup starring Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson, came in second. The Filipino horror film Untold opened at number 3 on Netflix in Czechia.

Horror films showed strong among this week’s top 10, with carryovers Final Destination: Bloodlines coming in at number 4 on HBO Max and Sinners at number 6 for the same platform. With Weapons currently showing strong at the box office, 2025 has been an especially strong year for the genre.

The 1987 Thanksgiving classic Planes, Trains, and Automobiles also crept into the top 10 in the Czech Republic. John Candy: I Like Me, a new documentary about its star produced by Ryan Reynolds and Colin Hanks, was recently announced as the opening film at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival.

MobLand, a Guy Ritchie-produced starring Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren, showed well in Czech charts the summer despite releasing episodes on SkyShowtime locally months after their premiere on Paramount+ in the states.

Six weeks after dropping its third season on Disney+, the critically acclaimed series The Bear has maintained a spot in the top 10 in Czechia, while multiple Star Trek series continue to draw viewers for SkyShowtime.
