Comic-Con Prague will return earlier than usual in 2026, shifting from its traditional spring slot to mid-March as organizers begin unveiling the first wave of guests. The three-day pop culture festival, now in its seventh year, is set for March 13–15 at Prague’s O2 Universum, bringing international film and TV talent back to the Czech capital.
The first-announced guests include actress Amanda Tapping, best known to sci-fi audiences for her long-running role as Samantha Carter in multiple Stargate television series, along with Alien: Earth cast members Diêm Camille and Sandra Yi Sencindiver. Organizers say the earlier date is intended to broaden programming opportunities and accommodate an expanding guest roster.
For Prague’s growing genre fan base, the early announcements provide a preview of the 2026 edition, which will again combine international screen talent with local comic creators, writers and production figures.
Early guest lineup led by Amanda Tapping
Tapping, whose work on Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe helped anchor one of science fiction’s longest-running franchises, is slated to help open the festival. In addition to acting, she has directed episodes of series including Sanctuary, The Flash and Supernatural, earning a reputation within the industry for her work behind the camera.
“We are very happy that we will be able to welcome Amanda Tapping to Prague,” said Pavel Renčín, marketing director of Active Radio, the event’s main organizer. He noted her recognition as both an actress and director and called her participation “a great honor for us and the fans.”
Joining her are two actors from the recent sci-fi series Alien: Earth, Diêm Camille and Sandra Yi Sencindiver. Both performers have worked extensively in Denmark and have appeared in major streaming and television productions.
Camille, who also writes and directs, has screened award-winning short films at multiple festivals and is known for roles in The Wheel of Time and Alex Rider. Sencindiver has appeared in genre projects including Foundation and The Wheel of Time, gaining attention for her work in ensemble-driven science fiction and fantasy productions.
Festival program director Václav Pravda said the goal for 2026 is to broaden the lineup and strengthen international appeal. “Every year of Comic-Con brings new experiences,” he said. “We want to give fans an even richer program and bring more big names.”
Additional guests are expected to be announced in the coming months as organizers finalize programming for panels, photo sessions and other events.
Expanded programming and Czech creators
Alongside its international guests, Comic-Con Prague will spotlight Czech comic artists and writers, continuing a tradition of featuring local talent across multiple creative fields. Petr Kopl, known for his comic adaptations of Victorian literature, is set to participate, along with Dan Černý, creator of the character Fanouš, and Nikkarin, whose distinctive style has drawn a wide readership. Organizers say the presence of Czech artists is intended to provide festivalgoers a look into current trends in domestic comic production.
The 2026 program will again include discussions, workshops, autograph sessions and photo opportunities with guests. Long-running features such as the video game zone, board game hall and cosplay competitions will return, along with a dedicated set of events for film and TV fans. A Star Wars exhibition featuring models, props and replicas—including droids, spacecraft and technical displays—is also planned.
As in past years, the festival aims to serve a broad audience, from fans of genre film and television to readers of comics and visitors interested in production craft. With Prague continuing to serve as a recurring filming hub for international projects, Comic-Con has developed an overlap with local production interests, drawing participants from the Czech creative sector in addition to visiting fans.
Organizers will release further programming details as the event approaches. Tickets go on sale October 10 through the event website and major ticketing platforms, with discounted pricing available through November 3. Additional guest announcements are expected later in the year as scheduling is finalized.
