Kino Pivo: Prague’s top cinemas now have their very own beer

Prague’s arthouse cinemas may not serve popcorn, but they do serve beer. And now some of the city’s top cinemas have their very own lager in the form of Kino Pivo, brewed exclusively for Aerofilms cinemas including Kino Světozor, Kino Aero, Bio Oko and Kino Přítomnost in Prague.

Kino Pivo is crafted by Hořice brewery JungBerg, and it’s a light 11° pale lager that pairs nicely will all cinema offerings. Unfiltered and unpasteurized, Kino Pivo is bottom-fermented with 4.6 percent alcohol content and a lowish 35 IBU on the bitterness scale.

“Hořice JungBerg Brewery brews exceptional beer,” notes Aerofilms. “And now they’ve made one just for us. In the spring of 2023, a unique beer with five-star reviews was launched. At first glance, it’s just beer – light in color and solid white foam.”

“That’s why you have to taste it first to know the mild bitterness and light summer taste. All this thanks to the honest work of the brewers from the Jungberg brewery, who really made sure that the beer was made exclusively from four basic ingredients (water, malt, hops and yeast) without unnecessary additives.”

Kino Pivo has been available at Aerofilms cinemas in Prague since earlier this summer, and reviews for the light lager have been positive so far.

“Kino Pivo is a solid, if by-the-numbers 11° Světlý Ležák brewed by Pivovar JungBerg for Bio Oko, Kino Aero, and Kino Světozor that you can order at the cinema’s bar to drink before, during and/or after the movie,” writes Prague’s hard-to-please beer critic Pivní Filosof.

While Kino Pivo is available exclusively through Aerofilms cinemas, the JungBerg brewery also crafts an unfiltered and unpasteurized 12° lager PP, a top-fermented 10° ale Petral, a 14° IPA Lucipa, and a strong 16° Gothard.

JungBerg’s beers can be enjoyed at the brewery’s own pub in Hořice, about 60 kilometers east of Prague, as well as restaurants and pubs throughout the Czech Republic.

In addition to the Prague cinemas, Kino Pivo is also available at Aerofilms-operated cinemas Bio Central in Hradec Králové and Kino Scala at Brno’s Masaryk University.
