Logan Lerman and Jennifer Jason Leigh in season 2 of Hunters (2020)

Prague-shot ‘Hunters’, season 2, is now streaming on Amazon Prime

The second and final season of Hunters, which was partially filmed in Prague and surrounding locations in the Czech Republic last fall, is now streaming on Amazon Prime. Logan Lerman and Al Pacino star in the series, and are joined by Jennifer Jason Leigh for season 2.

Hunters stars Lerman as Jonah Heidelbaum, a young man drawn into a secret society of Nazi hunters by Holocaust survivor Meyer Offerman (Pacino) in the 1970s. In season two, the titular hunters band together on their greatest task yet: to hunt down a still-living Adolf Hitler (played by Udo Kier).

The eight-episode second season of Hunters also stars returning regulars Jerrika Hinton, Lena Olin, Josh Radnor, Tiffany Boone, Carol Kane, Louis Ozawa, Kate Mulvany, and Greg Austin.

While shooting for Hunters only briefly took place in Prague in October-November of 2021, the Czech capital’s streets can be seen throughout many of the season’s episodes. Prague plays Paris, Munich, and other European locales. The Czech capital will also play Paris in the upcoming season 2 of AMC’s Interview with the Vampire, set to shoot in Prague from April.

Filming for Hunters in Prague took place in the Czech capital’s Old Town, Malá Strana, and Smíchov districts, as well as by the National Theatre’s brutalist Nová scéna building.

Outside of Prague, other locations in the Czech Republic Hunters filmed at include the town of Libochovice in the Ústí nad Labem region as well as Mladá Boleslav, the head of Czech carmaker Škoda Auto.

Outside of the Czech Republic, filming for Hunters also took place in New York City and surrounding areas, as well as Budapest and other locations in Hungary.

Last week, Hunters leads Pacino and Lerman appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to promote the final season of their show. Lerman even briefly addressed the Prague shoot with an amusing anecdote: he ran into Chris Hemsworth, who happened to be in the Czech capital shooting Extraction 2.

“We were shooting in Prague, and they had another production. Chris Hemsworth was staying there, and he’s filming […] Basically, they’re doing Extraction 2, and we’re filming out there. This is an action show, so you have to — you know, to continue working out and things like that.”

“So I’d always go to the gym, and I’d be stuck, just me and Chris Hemsworth. And there’s nothing more emasculating than working out next to Chris Hemsworth. And mind you, he has no idea who I am. And we’re down there often, and we start talking. And for some reason he thought I was a stunt guy on his movie. And so — but here’s the best part.”

“I never told him that I wasn’t, so I just, like, pretended like I was just this stunt guy on his film, like, showing up every day. I’m like, ‘Yeah, work was crazy yesterday on the prison set. Yeah, for sure. Definitely. I know what you mean.’”

To this day, Lerman says, Hemsworth doesn’t know who he was.

“Chris, if you’re watching,” he says. “This is Logan Lerman. I’m the guy from the gym in Prague.”
