The second season of Miracle Workers, a TBS comedy set in heaven and starring Steve Buscemi as God and Daniel Radcliffe as a low-level angel who sets out to thwart the Creator’s destruction of Earth, is now filming in Prague through late November.
Miracle Workers premiered earlier this year to largely enthusiastic reviews on the US TV station and online via Amazon Prime. TBS renewed the series for a second season shortly after its premiere.
Created by veteran Saturday Night Live writer Simon Rich, Miracle Workers charts the journey of a pair of low-level angels – Radcliffe’s Craig and Geraldine Viswanathan’s Eliza – who work on delivering their biggest miracle in a last-ditch effort to save Earth.
Karan Soni, Jon Bass, Sasha Compère, and Lolly Adefope also star among Miracle Worker’s principle cast.
While the first season of Miracle Workers was filmed entirely on US locations in and around Atlanta, Georgia, production has partially moved to the Czech Republic for its second season.
Plot details surrounding what scenes might be shot in Prague or Czech locations are under wraps, but at least some of the cast members have recently been spotted in the Czech capital.
Last night Buscemi and SNL vet Fred Armisen were spotted at hip Prague hangout Kasárna Karlín:
While Armisen hasn’t been confirmed as a cast member for season 2 of Miracle Workers, a guest role in the series, at least, is a good bet.
Prague casting agency Extrafilms was recently seeking extras to appear in the series, including a stand-in for Buscemi’s God.
Miracle Workers is based on Simon Rich’s book What In God’s Name. If season 2 follows the same trajectory as the first, look for it to premiere on TBS and Amazon Prime in February 2020.
