Sci-Fi Film Fest Lands in Bio Oko This Weekend

Future Gate, Bio Oko’s annual science fiction film festival now celebrating its fourth year, will land at the popular Prague 7 cinema this weekend, from February 23-26.

The fest kicks off Thursday night with a screening of the 2015 comedy Moonwalkers, a moon landing conspiracy theory affair starring Ron Perlman and Harry Potter’s Rupert Grint.

On Friday night, a screening of the 1984 Schwarzenegger classic The Terminator will be followed by a post-film discussion (in Czech).

Saturday brings the anime classic Akira (in Japanese with Czech subtitles) along with the 80s retro animated throwback Nova Seed, from director Nick DiLiberto.

On Sunday, a lineup of kid-friendly sci-fi flicks includes a screening of the Spielberg classic E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial (Czech-dubbed version) and the new post-apocalyptic British film The White King, starring Jonathan Pryce and Olivia Williams.

The full schedule can be seen on the official Future Gate website or via Bio Oko.
