A surprise hit led Czech streaming charts over the past week according to aggregator JustWatch: The Tank (Der Tiger), a German-language WWII action-drama from director Dennis Gansel about a five-man crew of a Nazi Tiger tank as they embark on a secret mission deep behind enemy lines. The Prime Video hit may have gotten a local boost considering it was filmed in and around Prague in 2023.
The WWII drama dropped One Battle After Another to second place in its fourth weekend of release on HBO Max. Paul Thomas Anderson‘s epic black comedy based on the novel Vineland by Thomas Pynchon stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a father attempting to save his daughter during a questionable military intervention led by a colonel from their past, played by Sean Penn.
F1 continues to pace well six weeks into its streaming release on Apple TV+, coming in third. The automotive blockbuster starring Brad Pitt and Javier Bardem was one of the biggest hits in Czech cinemas this year behind A Minecraft Movie, and continues to draw in viewers for Apple TV.
Coming in fourth for Netflix was one of the first original films of 2026 for the streaming giant: People We Meet on Vacation, a romantic comedy about two friends who become even closer after sharing a week of summer vacation together. The film is based on the novel by Emily Henry and stars Emily Bader and Tom Blyth.
Rounding out the top five is Accepted, now streaming on Netflix in the Czech Republic and celebrating 20 years since its release in 2026. The college enrollment comedy stars Justin Long as a recent graduate who creates a fake university in order to fool his parents.

An unexpected title ousted Stranger Things after its month-long hold over the top of the Czech streaming charts among TV series: The Night Manager, a spy series based on the novel by John le Carré starring Tom Hiddleston as a British intelligence agent. The series has released its first three episodes on Prime Video, with new episodes dropping weekly through Feb. 1.
Stranger Things dropped to second place over the past week, after dropping its season five finale on Dec. 31. The staggered release of the series throughout December instead of a single drop proved a wise move for the streaming giant, with its biggest series dominating the streaming conversation all month long.
The Rookie, which just premiered its Prague-shot debut episode of its eighth season on ABC in the States, surged all the way up to third among TV series over the past week. Earlier seasons of the Nathan Fillion-starring cop drama are streaming on Netflix and Disney+ in the Czech Republic.
Ranking fourth over the past week was His & Hers, a six-episode limited series starring Tessa Thompson, Jon Bernthal, and Pablo Schreiber. The mystery-thriller about a journalist investigating a murder in a small Georgia town is now streaming in full on Netflix.
A local series rounded out the top five as The Markovič Method came in fifth over the past week for OnePlay. The TV Nova-produced Czech crime drama follows real-life investigator Jiří Markovič, who collaborated with the filmmakers prior to his death. Season one followed his pursuit of notorious serial killer Ladislav Hojer; season two has just premiered.
