Production has begun this week in Prague on Whiskey Cavalier, a new spy-themed TV pilot ordered by US TV studio ABC earlier this year.
The pilot for the hour-long comedy-drama is currently shooting in the center of Prague 1 by the Můstek metro station, with areas around Národní, Jugmannova, Charvátova, and Vladislavova streets booked through Wednesday, March 28th.
In Whiskey Cavalier, Scott Foley (Scandal) stars as FBI Agent Will Chase – codename: Whiskey Cavalier – who is assigned to work with CIA agent Francesca Trowbridge – codename: Fiery Tribune – to lead a team of international spies and save the world.
With the popular Scandal wrapping up this year after seven seasons, Foley is eyeing a new home on TV; Whiskey Cavalier might be it. The actor also starred in featured roles on Felicity and David Mamet’s The Unit.
Lauren Cohan, best known for her role as Maggie Green on AMC’s The Walking Dead, stars opposite Foley as Fiery Tribune. Cohan also starred in the lead in the recent horror flick The Boy and as Martha Wayne in Batman v Superman.
Tyler James Williams (Dear White People, The Walking Dead) and Ana Ortiz (Dangerous Maids, Ugly Betty) co-star in the pilot.
Whiskey Cavalier is written by David Hemingson (Just Shoot Me!, How I Met Your Mother), who is also serving as executive producer. Peter Atencio (Key & Peele, Keanu) is directing the pilot, with Bill Lawrence (Cougar Town, Scrubs) also exec producing.
With that lineup of talent in front of & behind the camera, the pilot should stand a good chance of getting picked up – and possibly returning to Prague for further shoots on a series proper.
Production in the Czech capital on Whiskey Cavalier pilot is expected to run through May.
