He’ll be back: Arnold Schwarzenegger to return to Prague for Night with a Legend appearance

Hollywood icon Arnold Schwarzenegger is slated to Prague this summer, marking his first public appearance in the Czech capital since filming the second season of FUBAR in 2024. The former action star and California governor is scheduled to appear on June 18 at Palác Žofín, where he will take part in a ticketed evening event titled Night with a Legend.

The appearance adds to Schwarzenegger’s long-standing ties to Central Europe, where he was born and where he has repeatedly returned for film, political, and environmental engagements. Organizers say the evening will center on Schwarzenegger reflecting on his life and career, from bodybuilding and Hollywood to public office.

The event is expected to draw a mix of local and international attendees, with tickets from CZK 2,490 to CZK 34,990 now on sale (and almost sold out at time of writing) via the GoOut platform.

A return following Prague filming

Schwarzenegger was last in Prague in 2024 during the production of the second season of FUBAR, the Netflix action-comedy series in which he stars. While brief, that shoot marked one of the highest-profile television productions to film in the Czech capital in recent years, employing local crews and using Prague locations to double for international settings.

Schwarzenegger’s presence during the FUBAR shoot drew attention both locally and abroad, highlighting the Czech Republic’s ongoing appeal as a production hub for major streaming platforms. Recent series that have filmed in Prague also include The Rookie, Blade Runner 2099, and Ride or Die.

According to organizers, Schwarzenegger will arrive in Prague from Austria, where he is expected to attend a climate-focused conference. His Czech appearance is positioned as a standalone event rather than part of a broader promotional tour, with no film announcements currently associated with the visit.

Night with a Legend

The June 18 event at Palác Žofín is designed for approximately 800 paying guests, with multiple ticket categories offering varying levels of access. Depending on the ticket, attendees may take part in a formal dinner or purchase an additional option for a personal photograph with Schwarzenegger. Organizers have said that signed memorabilia will be limited to items auctioned as part of the evening.

Promoter Petr Větrovský stated that securing Schwarzenegger’s participation required years of negotiation, with previous attempts falling through despite initial commitments. The final confirmation reportedly came late last year following direct outreach to the actor.

The Night with a Legend format has previously brought international figures to Prague, including boxer Mike Tyson and actor Jean-Claude Van Damme. However, not all planned appearances have materialized. A similar event announced last year with Chuck Norris was ultimately canceled shortly before it was scheduled to take place, reportedly for health reasons.

Schwarzenegger’s upcoming appearance therefore carries added attention, both as a high-profile success for the organizers and as a reminder of the logistical and financial challenges involved in staging such events. While the evening is framed as a personal appearance rather than a film-industry gathering, his return nonetheless reinforces Prague’s ongoing connection to globally recognized screen figures with recent production ties to the city.
