Amazon’s ‘Hunters’, season 2, to film in Prague from October

Hunters, an Amazon Studios drama about Nazi hunters starring Al Pacino and Logan Lerman, will begin shooting its second season in Prague from October, according to information from local casting agencies.

Production on the second season of Hunters in the Czech Republic will run through November, indicating that Prague will be a significant but perhaps not primary filming location for the second season of the Amazon series.

Created by David Weil and produced by Jordan Peele (Get Out), the first season of Hunters starred Pacino as a Holocaust survivor who leads a team of Nazi hunters tracking down war criminals from New York City in the late 1970s.

Lerman, Jerrika Hinton, Saul Rubinek, Carol Kane, Josh Radnor, Tiffany Boone, Louis Ozawa, and Kate Mulvany co-starred as members of the titular team of Nazi hunters, while Lena Olin, Greg Austin, and Dylan Baker played members of the Fourth Reich.

The first season of Hunters ended with quite the cliffhanger as the team heads to Europe to continue their mission.

Given the events of the first season of Hunters, star Al Pacino is unlikely to return for the second season, at least in a leading role. Early reports have indicated that Oscar-nominated actress Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight) has been cast as a season two lead to replace him, as a Nazi hunter named Chava.

Other new faces have been confirmed for supporting roles in the second season of Hunters, including Udo Kier (The Painted Bird), Tommy Martinez (Good Trouble), and Emily Rudd (The Romanoffs).

“I am beyond grateful to Jen and the Amazon family for their continued extraordinary support of Hunters,” series creator Weil stated last year when the series was renewed for a second season.

“Alongside our magnificent cast, incredible crew, and brilliant writers and producers, I am more eager than ever to share the next chapter of the Hunters saga with the world.”

“With Hunters, David Weil’s bold vision and fearless imagination powered a thrilling, twisty, action-packed first season that engaged Prime Video customers around the world,” said Amazon Studios Head Jennifer Salke.

“We are thrilled that David, Jordan and the Hunters will be back with us for more.”

Hunters joins a slate of Amazon Studios TV productions filming in Prague this year, including the long-running Carnival Row and The Wheel of Time, the third season of Hanna, and the French spy series Totems.
