The Czech comedy Vyšehrad Dvje leads all movies streaming in the Czech Republic for the second straight weekend, according to data compiled by streaming guide JustWatch. The football-centered comedy sequel from directors Martin Kopp and Jakub Štáfek is now streaming on Netflix after amassing around CZK 90 million ($4.3 million) in cinemas earlier this summer.
Waves (Vlny), the Czech Republic’s official submission to the 2025 Academy Awards, surged into second place on the anniversary of its theatrical release last summer. The film, which tells the story of how Czechoslovak Radio covered the 1968 Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia, was likely most-watched on Aug. 21, the anniversary of the invasion.
In a weekend light on new releases, a pair of blockbusters rounded out the top five, with Christopher Nolan‘s Interstellar ranking fourth and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One coming in fifth. The final M:I movie, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, is currently available on VOD and should hit streaming services in the coming months.
Among new debuts, the Indian horror movie Maa came in third for Netflix despite poor reviews, while the romance The Map That Leads to You, which tours European locations, ranked sixth for Prime Video. Eenie Meanie, a heist comedy-thriller with Samara Weaving and Andy Garcia, debuted in seventh for Disney+.

Among TV series, Alien: Earth retains its top spot in JustWatch streaming charts for the Czech Republic this week. The new series from creator Noah Hawley (Fargo) and set in the same universe as the Alien films is now streaming its first three episodes, with new episodes dropping weekly on Tuesdays.
The second season of Peacemaker, starring John Cena as the titular DC antihero, debuted in second place. The first episode of Peacemaker season 2, which drew some chatter online for retconning characters from the DCEU in season 1, is now streaming on HBO Max. New episodes release on Thursdays.
Wednesday holds strong to come in third among TV shows in the Czech Republic after dropping the first half of its second season two weeks back. The hit series from Tim Burton will unveil the second half of its second season next month. Also holding strong in the top 5 are The Summer I Turned Pretty, which drops new episodes for its third season Wednesdays on Prime Video, and MobLand, now streaming in full on SkyShowtime.
Hostage, a new UK political thriller set in the Canary Islands, debuted in sixth for Netflix, where all of its five episodes are now streaming.
