Czech streaming charts Nov. 10-16: Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ rises to the top for Netflix

Frankenstein, Guillermo del Toro‘s blockbuster Netflix adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic horror novel, was the most popular movie on streaming services over the past week after debuting in second last weekend, according to streaming aggregator JustWatch. The movie, which stars Jacob Elordi as the Creature and Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein, received a brief theatrical release in the States but went straight to streaming in the Czech Republic.

Playdate, a new buddy action family comedy starring Alan Ritchson, Kevin James, and Alan Tudyk, opened in second for Prime Video. James stars as a stay-at-home dad who gets more than he bargained for when he agrees to a playdate with another dad, played by Reacher star Ritchson.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps fell to third in Czech streaming charts after debuting in first for Disney+ last weekend. The MCU superhero movie starring Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby failed to make much noise at the local box office over the summer.

A House of Dynamite continues to show strong streaming legs for Netflix. The explosive political thriller from director Kathryn Bigelow co-starring Rebecca Ferguson and Idris Elba, shot up to the number one position after debuting in fifth last weekend.

One of The Prague Reporter‘s favorite films of 2025, The Surfer, cracked the top five in its streaming debut for HBO Max. Released in Czech cinemas back in April, the surreal Aussie throwback stars Nicolas Cage as a middle-aged father who confronts a gang of surf hooligans led by a character played by Julian McMahon in one of his final roles.

The 2020 Bob Odenkirk action-comedy Nobody made the top 10 for the second straight week, coming in eighth. Czech fans are patiently awaiting the streaming debut of Nobody 2, which premiered in local cinemas this summer and is now streaming on Peacock in the States.

On the heels of the theatrical release of Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, the previous film in the magic-themed franchise, Now You See Me 2, cracked the top 10 over the past week for Netflix.
