Spider-Man: Far From Home to Shoot in Prague and Liberec in September

Spider-Man: Far From Home, the sequel to 2017’s hit Spider-Man: Homecoming and second official Spider-Man entry in the MCU, made some waves earlier this year when it was announced that the film would be partially set and shot in Prague.

Local fans may have been a little disappointed to find out the majority of principal photography on the Spider-Man sequel would take place in London (including some scenes set in Prague), but the Marvel webslinger will (finally) be headed to the Czech Republic next month.

According to inside information, Spider-Man: Far From Home will be briefly shooting in the Czech Republic during September, which will including location filming in both Prague and Liberec.

Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker, who will travel to Europe with his high school classmates (including characters played by Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori) following the events of the Avengers: Infinity War movies..

The film will also star Jake Gyllenhaal as villainous Quentin Beck, a.k.a. Mysterio, while numerous other Spider-Man villains and other characters have been rumored for supporting roles. Michael Keaton will reprise his role as The Vulture for the sequel.

Plot details for the film, including what scenes featuring which actors will be filmed on the Czech locations, are currently being kept under wraps.

But local casting agencies are currently seeking extras to appear during shooting in both Prague and Liberec locations, which is being discreetly shot under the fake working title ‘Bosco’ (a reference for Seinfeld fans).

In Liberec, Spider-Man: Far from Home will be shooting a carnival scene during one of the last weeks of September, with local casting agencies seeking jugglers, hula hoop dancers, and folk dance groups with traditional Czech costumes to appear in the film from September 19-27.

If you’d like a chance to appear in Spider-Man: Far From Home, local casting agency Extrafilms is holding an open casting call for extras on Wednesday, August 29 from 14:00 – 18:00 at their Karlovo náměstí office.

Extrafilms is also responsible for extras casting for season 2 of Knightfall, featuring Mark Hamill as a Templar Knight, which has just begun filming in Prague and will shoot through the end of December.

Spider-Man: Far From Home will see release in July, 2019.
