‘FBI: International’, season three, shooting in Prague’s Old Town Square this week

The third season of FBI: International premieres on CBS tonight, but production on future episodes in the season is still underway. Filming for the show will take place in and around Prague’s Old Town Square later this week.

FBI: International is the second spinoff of the popular FBI series created by Dick Wolf, who is also behind the long-running Law and Order franchise. CBS viewers stateside are in for an all-FBI Tuesday this evening, with the premiere of the season six of FBI at 8:00 p.m. followed by season three of FBI: International at 9:00 p.m. and season five of FBI: Most Wanted at 10:00 p.m.

The first two seasons of FBI: International are also available to stream on Peacock in the United States. In the Czech Republic, selected episodes are available for streaming on O2 TV.

Like the name implies, FBI: International follows the adventures of Federal Bureau of Investigation agents abroad. While the FBI is primarily known as a domestic law enforcement organization within the United States, it also maintains dozens of legal attachés and sub-offices from U.S. embassies internationally.

FBI: International follows an elite team of international agents known as the Fly Team, who are headquartered in Budapest. Primary production of the show also takes place in the Hungarian capital, but individual episodes and sequences have been filmed in locations across the globe.

Scenes for the first season of FBI: International previously shot in Prague in 2021. The Czech capital can be seen in the seventh episode of the series, Trying to Grab Smoke, which follows agents investigating the murder of the American founder of an illegal adults-only website in Prague.

FBI: International stars Luke Kleintank (The Man in the High Castle, Midway) as the Fly Team leader, alongside FBI special agents played by Heida Reed (Poldark), Carter Redwood (The Long Road Home), and Vinessa Vidotto. Eva-Jane Willis (The Power) joined the main cast for the second season, and Christina Wolfe (Batwoman, The Ark) is on board for season three.

From February 15 through 17, portions of central Prague have been reserved for the filming of FBI: International in Prague’s city center, including a large area in and around the Czech capital’s landmark Old Town Square. Portions of nearby Týnská, Masná, Platnéřská, and Seminářská streets have also been reserved on these dates.

During a quiet winter season on the Prague production scene, other projects filming in the Czech capital early this year include season two of the German-language Netflix series The Empress, and the French-produced Czech series Daughter of the Nation (Dcera národa).

Apple TV+’s Foundation was expected to resume its Prague shoot later this month after being delayed due to last summer’s actors’ strike, but cast and crew have reportedly been sent home due to budget issues.

  1. We were in Prague two weeks ago and a huge section of Old Town Square was blocked off with film equipment and cars, from the Astronomical Clock to the church. Was wondering what was filming there, looks like it was this 🙂
