Extraction 2, a sequel to the Netflix action movie starring Chris Hemsworth that has been shooting on the outskirts of Prague since last November, has officially wrapped its shoot in the Czech Republic. A release date for the feature on Netflix has not been announced as the film heads to post-production, but is likely to debut in late 2022 or early 2023.
Star Hemsworth left Prague late last month, while the remaining cast and crew including director Sam Hargrave wrapped up shooting the final scenes for Extraction 2 last week as Czech production came to a close on April 6.
Extraction 2 is a continuation of the saga of mercenary Tyler Rake, played by Hemsworth, who rescued the son of an Indian drug lord in the first film. Plot details for the sequel have been scarce, but an early version of the script had Rake breaking a Georgian gangster out of a high-security prison.
Cast details for the sequel have also been scare, though Adam Bessa and Rayna Campbell are reportedly returning for the sequel, joining newcomers Justin Howell, Patrick Newall, Tinatin Dalakishvili, Tornike Gogrichiani, Tornike Bziava, and Andro Japaridze.
MMA star Megan Anderson also shot scenes for Extraction 2 in Prague.
Produced by Joe and Anthony Russo, who shot the Netflix blockbuster The Gray Man in Prague last summer, Prague locations utilized in Extraction 2 have not been publicized but include rural locales on the outskirts of the city. Over the past weeks, much of filming has taken place at a former prison.
Production on the film primarily took place outside of Prague, with a short break in filming over the Christmas holidays.
Extraction 2 also shot briefly scenes in Czech neighbor Austria, with a helicopter chase scene filmed in downtown Vienna.
Look for Extraction 2 to hit Netflix screens within the next year.
