FREE Summer Cinema at Containall Stromovka is in Full Swing!
Prague's beloved summer hotspot Containall unfortunately had to close their Kampa location this year, but in addition to a second location underneath the Metronome in Letná, organizers were able to unveil a new venue in Stromovka Park just in time for summer 2018.
Containall Stromovka, located at the northeast end of one of central Prague’s biggest parks, has already been open for a few weeks now, servicing park patrons from a well-stocked bar that includes a nice selection of beers and wine. A beach volleyball court at the venue has also been popular.
And every Monday, Containall Stromovka is getting into the summer cinema swing with free weekly movies in the pleasant surroundings of Prague’s Stromovka Park.
Tonight’s presentation is the star-studded Agatha Christie adaptation Murder on the Orient Express - not the Kenneth Branagh remake with Johnny Depp that came out last year, but the 1974 version starring Albert Finney as Hercule Poirot.
The screening continues a season of summer cinema at Containall Stromovka that will include a new movie every Monday night throughout the summer. Next week, the fun continues with a presentation of the Hitchcock classic Strangers on a Train on June 4.
Films start at dusk (21:15 tonight), and will be screened in their original language with Czech subtitles. Entry is free of charge.
And If you can’t make the Monday night screenings, nearby summer hangout Tiskárna na Vzduchu, located just a stone’s throw away on the edge of Stromovka Park by the Výstaviště Exhibition Grounds, will be screening a movie every Tuesday night.
And Letní kino Výstaviště, which will debut in mid-June at the Křižíkova fontána, promises a movie from Wednesdays-Saturdays. It seems Stromovka is the place to be for summer cinema in Prague this year.
