Summer cinema season is back in full swing in Prague, with no less than a dozen outdoor venues starting to unveil screenings under the stars this May & June.
One of those venues is the popular Prague “beach” at Žluté lázně, the artificially sand-speckled sports & recreation area on the banks of the Vltava in Prague 4.
Žluté lázně features a popular sandy beach area for sunbathing and (for the brave) swimming along with sports facilities (beach volleyball, table tennis, petanque, and more), and beachside bars and restaurants.
And during the summer months this year, every Tuesday and Saturday, Žluté lázně will feature a summer cinema presentation starting at dusk, presented for free for guests of the venue.
The 2018 summer cinema season at Žluté lázně begins next Tuesday, May 29 with a screening of Edgar Wright’s musical heist flick Baby Driver, followed by a Saturday night presentation of Marvel’s Doctor Strange on June 2.
If you’re behind on your superhero blockbusters, Žluté lázně might be a good place to catch up next month: Thor: Ragnarok, Wonder Woman, Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, and Suicide Squad will all be screened throughout the month. Things get a little more interesting in July.
Admission to the Žluté lázně grounds itself is 50 CZK, but once you’re inside the area the cinema screenings are presented free of charge.
