Prague’s Cross Club Unveils FREE Summer Cinema
Restaurant, pub, bar, music club, art gallery, and all-around multi-purpose venue Cross Club is a landmark in the Holešovice district of Prague 7, and was even included among Business Insider’s list of the 27 "most bizarre restaurants in the world.”
It’s a must-see venue both inside and out, with a futuristic steampunk design that overtakes much of the restaurant & bars outdoor seating areas.
The unconventional club is home to a number of diverse events throughout the year, from a weekly street food festival to some of Prague’s more eclectic musical acts.
And this summer, the silver screen is returning to Cross Club (or rather, the vacant lot adjacent to the popular club) in the form of summer cinema screenings every Wednesday night.
Best of all? All films presented during the special Wednesday screenings are offered free of charge. Just be sure to show up early enough to call dibs on a spot to watch the movie; the seating (benches and chairs) is limited and the free screenings typically draw hundreds of viewers.
Free summer cinema in the friendly confines of one of Prague’s must-see venues? Not bad.
Here’s what’s in store in the coming weeks:
- June 14: The Girl on the Train
- June 21: Eddie the Eagle
- June 28: The Handmaiden (in Korean with Czech subtitles)
- July 5: Split
If those 2016 releases aren't enough to grab your interest, the venue has also announced a pair of 2017 blockbusters coming up later in the season:
